Melody lay in her bed starring at her phone, hoping it would ring. She was wanted Chase to call her and let her know what he decided to do.

"Ring, please just ring,"

Then she rolled onto her other side and jumped as she heard the phone ring.

"Chase?"

"Guess again," said Patch.

"Oh," Melody laid back down and hugged her purple stuffed bunny Chase had won for her at the church carnival, "Sorry Patch, I was waiting for. . ."

Patch interrupted her, "I know who you were waiting for. What I want you to do is quit acting so depressed and come to Buddy's party with me tonight. The whole gang's going to be there."

"I don't think so. I'm not in the partying mood."

"If you change your mind, that's where we'll all be if you need us. Please just at least think about it. Chase will more then likely be there."

Melody smiled when she heard Chase's name. She told Patch that she would think about it and quickly hung up the phone. Jumping up out of her bed, she ran to the mirror and began to fix her mane and wash her face. She didn't want him to know how upset she's been, even though he probably already knows.

Melody arrived at Buddy's house around 9:00. She didn't want to arrive too early. She looked around at all the ponies dancing. She looked to her right and saw Ace and Starlight slow dancing together. To her left, she saw Bonbon and Spinner feeding each other goodies from the snack table. Straight ahead of her she saw Teddy and Sweetheart getting cozy on the couch. It seemed that everyone had someone to love them but her. She really missed Chase. She felt the tears swell up in her eyes.

Finally she couldn't take anymore. How could she have any fun when she felt so terrible. She rushed to the door to leave. As she got to the door, it opened before her and there stood Chase in the doorway. Inside she was so happy to see him, but she couldn't smile. The two of them stood still starring at each other until. . .

"Melody," Chase took her hoof into his, "I'm so sorry."

Melody felt the lump in her throat rise and the tears in her eyes began to stream down her face.

"Everything happens for a reason. That's what you've always told me. Well, from this I've learned that your the pony I love, and your the one that I want to be with. I also learned to let the past go and focus on the future. Will you ever forgive me?"

Melody gave him a big hug. "I'll forgive you this time but next time you might not be so lucky," she laughed. "By the way, how many ex-girlfriends do you have?"

"Just one," laughed Chase kissing her cheek, "wanna dance?"

"I thought you'd never ask,"

The two of them made their way to the dance floor right next to Ace and Starlight. Starlight winked at Melody when she saw the huge smile on her face. Starlight knew that everything had turned out just fine.

The End
