For the rest of the week at school, Buddy tried to act normal around Patch so that she wouldn't suspect anything. The last thing he wanted was to disappoint her in finding out that he is actually her online date. But she couldn't stop talking about him (not knowing he is her date) or the date. Buddy caught himself blushing at some of her comments, but he hoped she didn't notice.

He got to the Ice Cream Shoppe fifteen minutes early. He was ready with his red rose and he hoped he was ready with Patch's reaction. He nervously sat there shooting the sugar packets across the table. Then he looked up to see her standing next to the table. He was unaware that Ace and Spinner were sitting in a nearby booth spying on him. They were curious to see what would develop.

"You!! You are my Chatline date!!" Patch said in a surprising yet angry tone.

"Do you think she is pissed it's Buddy and not some handsome stud?" Ace whispered to Spinner, as he covered his laugh.

"I thought this might be one of your possible reactions. I'm ready for whatever type you throw at me," Patch sat down across the table from him.

"Well, I bet you're not ready for what I'm about to tell you," Patch gave him a big smile as she proceeded to say, "I knew it was you the whole time. I purposely started to talk to you online, cause I didn't know where you wanted to go in our relationship. But for me, I would like to go a little farther."

Ace and Spinner's jaw dropped as they listened to the clever way she had set Buddy up. "I guess she is no fool. She really goes after what she wants in a clever way."

"Really, but I thought. . . ." Buddy couldn't find the words to say. He thought he had planned out everything he would say, but never expected her to have this whole thing set up.

"So what do you say? Do you want to take a step further?" For the first time Patch was a little scared to hear his answer. She could usually take anything he throws at her, but this was serious, her feelings were on the line, now. The last thing she wanted was to be rejected.

"I can't believe you had this whole thing set up. You knew it was me the whole time." Patch nodded with a sly grin on her face. "It's funny cause as soon as I saw your picture come up in the email, I was so shocked but at the same time happy. I thought you just wanted to be friends? I didn't want to push it if you didn't want to go further." Buddy couldn't believe what he was hearing from Patch.

"But you never answered my question."

"Oh, sorry. I'm still in shock."

"Well, maybe this will wake you up," Patch got up and sat next to Buddy and gave him a hot kiss on the lips. She sat back and waited for his response. Ace and Spinner smiled as they witness their first kiss as a couple.

"After that how could I say no," He gently pick up Patch's hoof, "Patch would you be my girlfriend?" He politely asked, kissing her hoof.

"I thought you'd never asked," as she leaned into kiss him again.

"Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh," was heard and then they noticed Ace and Spinner, walking over and sat down at their table.

"So how is the happy couple?" Ace asked with smile on his face.

"You butt heads were spying on us."

"Hey we were curious to see what would happen," Spinner took a sip of the coke that was sitting on the table. "Patch that was a different way of getting together."

"Hey, I'm not known for doing normal things, so I wanted to out do myself. Did I do it?" She asked Buddy.

"You certainly did."

"Just think, if anyone asks you how you got together, you guys will have one interesting story to tell," Ace laughed.
