"How about tomorrow night?" Chase finally answered.
"That sounds great!!" Crystal smiled and the two of them got up and walked out of the cafeteria.
Bonbon's jaw dropped, "That player, I have to tell Melody."
Then she hesitated for a minute. Melody could be very stubborn and there is a good chance that she won't believe it. So since they didn't have the same lunch, Bonbon had to make up an excuse to get out of class and tell her.
Melody carried her lunch tray to her usual table where she sat with Patch and Sweetheart.
"What's wrong, Mel?" Sweetheart noticed Melody didn't look like her cheery self.
"Yeah, what happen to that happy face we all saw this morning?" Patch managed to get a tiny smile from her.
"I haven't seen Chase all day," Melody stirred around her mash potatoes with her spoon.
Bonbon raced up to their table. Her heart was pounding and she was gasping for air.
"Aren't you suppose to be in class?" Sweetheart wanted to know what could be so important that she would have to leave class.
"Chase is a player!!" Bonbon blurted out.
"What!!!" shrieked Melody.
"I saw and heard him making a date with the new girl, Crystal," Bonbon sat down on the empty chair next to Sweetheart.
"You're lying, you just don't want me to be happy," Melody began shouting at Bonbon, "don't ever talk to me again!" She got up and ran to the bathroom.
"You two believe me right? I would never make up something that cruel. I love to see my friends happy. Why would I ruin that?" Bonbon's eyes began to fill with tears as she looked at Patch and Sweetheart.
"Of course we believe you," Sweetheart did her best to console her friend.
Melody went about the rest of the school day trying to forget what Bonbon had told her. She had not seen Chase all day. She found it a little strange but didn't read into it. After school she finally caught up to him.
"Hey baby, happy anniversary!" Melody hugged and kissed him. She noticed his eyes looking all around at the different faces around them.
"What? Something wrong?"
"Nothing, nothing's wrong," Chase assured her, "Happy anniversary!" He kissed Melody's cheek. "Sorry I didn't see you all day, I'll pick you up at 6:00, is that cool?"
"That's perfect, I'll be ready," She gave him a hug and headed to her car so she could get home, do her homework, and get ready for their date.
They went to dinner at a restaurant called "Match made in Heaven", a little romantic french place for lovers.
Melody notices a worried look on his face ever since he picked her up, "Chase, hun, what's wrong?"
"Chase is that you, what are you doing her and who is your friend?" Chase turned around and saw Crystal.
"Not here, not now." He thought to himself as he turned his head away and put up his napkin pretending he didn't hear anything.
"Bonbon was right," thought Melody as she looked at Crystal trying to hold back the tears.
