January 8th landed on a Friday. After school Teddy rushed home to get everything ready for their big night. His dad was working late tonight, so they would have the house to themselves with no interruptions. Besides she had a 12:00 curfew.

Tonight he was going to be Mr. Romantic and to start off the night he made it a point to arrive on time. 7:00 sharp he arrived to pick her up. He had on a black bowtie and when she opened the door he handed her a single red rose.

"Happy Anniversary Sweets," he kissed her cheek. She blushed as she grabbed her purse and they headed out the door.

They both got into his car and when he turned the car on, he had their song, "Still" by 98 degrees ready to come on. Sweetheart loved that song. That was the song that Teddy dedicated to her over the radio.

He drove her back to his house. He had her shut her eyes as he led her through his dimly lit house.

"Okay, open your eyes,"

She opened her eyes to see a table set for two with candles and a vase with two roses, in front of the tv. He sat her down and served her dinner of spaghetti and meatballs and buttered bread.

"You cooked me dinner?" Sweetheart was shocked. She has known Teddy for years and didn't think he knew his way around the kitchen.

"Sure did, and I found a very romantic movie to watch while we dine," he flipped on the tv and Lady and the Tramp came on. It's Sweetheart's favorite movie. And of course they had to act out the famous spaghetti scene.

After the finished eating, they sat on the couch and cuddled as they watched the end of the movie.

"What do you say to a romantic walk on the beach under the moonlight?" Teddy asked as he kissed her forehead. They walked back out to his car, and he opened the door for her.

"This could be a side of you that I could get used to really fast," Sweetheart remarked.

"Oh, no, this is a one time deal," Teddy joked with her as they made their way to the beach. They walked side by side up and down the beach, until the two of them grew tired and lied in the sand watching the stars and moon.

"Teddy this is the most perfect evening ever. I love you," Sweetheart leaned in to kiss him.

"I knew you wanted something very special, and I love you more," Teddy hugged her. "And now it's time for me to take you home. I have to get you home by curfew, your mom and dad give me dirty looks every time I drop you off five minutes late."

"Well, I couldn't ask for anything better then this date. I'm really truly never going to forget this evening. Now I know romantic you can be."

"Darn it, now I'm going to have to be romantic more often, right?"

"You got it!" Sweetheart leaned in to kiss him before getting out of the car.

Teddy watched her walk into her house. For the first time he really felt good about himself. And for once he didn't mess up the evening for her. It felt so good to have an things go the way he planned it. But how is he going to out-do himself next anniversary?
