"Hey Chase, what a surprise to see you here," Melody went to see him at the nursing home after church on Sunday.

"Oh really, it is no surprise, I work here remember," he went about finishing putting the bowl of jello on the lunch try.

"Oh right," Melody felt like a big fool saying something so stupid. First the food spill and now this. She wanted to hit herself in the head but didn't want to make a bigger fool out of herself.

"So are you here to see Grammy? I am on my way to her room right now. I'll walk you there. So where do you go to school?"

Melody stared at the ground, "Um Valley Brooke High,"

"Really, I go there, too."

"I have never seen you there before." She tried to recall many of the faces at the school. She would have remembered seeing a cute boy in the hallway. Checking out the boys is her specialty.

"I just transferred there about a week ago. Well here we are," Melody entered the room as Chase followed her in with Grammy's lunch tray.

"Well, I really do have to get back to work," Chase left the room, much to Melody's disappointment. She made the trip out to see him. She couldn't just be rude, so she visited with her Grammy and then set off to find Chase, again. Since she couldn't find him, and other ponies were starting to look at her funny for wondering the halls, she decided to head home. Tomorrow is Monday, so she will just look for him at school.

"Melody!! The pot is boiling over!!!" Her mom shouted as she noticed Melody was paying no attention to the pot of water she was boiling for the spaghetti noodles. She tried to get her mind off of Chase by helping her mom cook dinner, but for some reason she kept getting distracted by daydreams of him.

"I'm sorry mom, I was just distracted," Melody got all starry eyed. Her mom couldn't help but noticed, she was acting a little strange.

"All right spill it. What is on your mind?" Her mom crossed and leaned against the kitchen counter awaiting an answer. "Let me guess you are in love. Who is the lucky guy this week?"

"Funny mom, you sound like my friends. I think I really am in love. I met him at the nursing home yesterday. He is really sweet, and cute, and...aaaaahhhhhh," Melody poured the noodles in the boiling water. "I always catch myself thinking of him, and I totally get distracted from whatever I am doing."

"So, is he going to ask you out?" Her mom was a little curious. Melody hasn't been out on a date with a boy in a while. She had been spending a lot of time with the girls.

"Mother, I don't know. With my luck he probably has a girlfriend that he is in love with," She thought about it and then grew a little depressed.

"Well honey, why don't you find out, if you're really in love," Her mom figured this was just one of her daughter's phases. She always has to have a guy she is obsessed with.

"You're right mom. This is the year 2001. I can ask a guy out if I wanted to, right? I mean it won't look weird will it?"

"I don't think so. You have to go after what you want, right? Don't let fear or what others think stand in the way of what you want." Her mom gave her a hug and watch Melody totally forget about the noodles, as she headed upstairs.

"What do you think of my new hat?" Bonbon bought a new hat at the mall yesterday and wanted opinions on it. Melody looked up and down the hallway for Chase. "Melody, well, what do you think?"

"About what?" She kept looking all around, paying no attention to Bonbon. "Where is he?"

"I love it!" Sweetheart overheard as she joined them at their lockers. She noticed Melody looking a little distracted. "What's with her?"

"Is there a Chase in any of your classes?"

"Yes, He is in my math class. He is a new student here, and he is really truly sweet," Sweetheart filled Melody in. "Why?"

"Oh yes, Sweetheart find out if he has a girlfriend. I bumped into him at the nursing home where he works and I'm in love."

"Oh brother, here we go again," Bonbon shut her locker and couldn't bear to hear anymore, so she took off to her class.

Melody couldn't wait till lunch time so she could hear what Sweetheart had found about her dream guy this week. She patiently waited, not able to eat her chicken sandwich she bought, cause she was too excited.

"Ah Mel, I've found out some things about Chase," Sweetheart sat across from Melody. She dipped her soft prezel into the ranch dressing, and took a bit.

"Okay, spill it. I want to know," Melody eagerly awaited to hear what Sweetheart had found out.
